CAMPUS JOURNALIST ABUSE OF PRIVILEGE

It has come to the notice of the Students’ Representative Council of Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic Saapade, Ogun State about a press release by one of the former students named Babalola Ayoola Emmanuel in the Mass Communication Department. It is unfortunate that the said campus journalist is an antagonist to the growth and success of the institution.

As reported to our correspondence (GIR), the press release which claimed that a senior lecturer was “demoted and dismissed” over Sowore and Tinubu’s issue, this is of no valid evidence. The said lecturer was employed into the institution as Lecturer III and she was appointed HOD of the department, but she was not competent to handle the affairs of the department and she was changed to be the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the institution, she was equally found not competent to be the PRO of the Institution and she was changed. Mrs. Salami voluntarily resigned her appointment herself contrary to the fake news he’s spreading all about, she was neither dismissed not demoted.

Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic Saapade is one of the few institutions across the nation that gives opportunity for students placement (SIWES and IT) with pay, also equipping them with needful and relevant knowledge, skills and training in their field of studies, it is unfortunate that the claimed campus journalist is using the uncommon privilege given to him by the institution wrongly. Babalola Ayoola Emmanuel has never written anything good or positive about anybody in his life, check through his Facebook account; you will find that it is full of fake news and hate speech. He’s well known in the Institution, his parents have written undertaking letters as a result of his fake news and hate speech. He’s rude to the School Authority, Staff and Students.

He has never in his life seen good work of any good leader, the four communities that surrounds the school are commending the good works of the Rector even the present Governor of Ogun State.

It is unfortunate that the said campus journalist failed to appreciate the platform which has given him the opportunity to strive in his career, in spite of the effort of the school management in creating conducive learning environment and to provide better opportunity for all, it was not appreciated by the writer who is one of the benefactors.  It is not strange, this is not his first write up to antagonized the School Management and the Rector, you have also done same to others comrade in the struggle.

“Let me tell you (Babalola Ayoola Emmanuel), you cannot destroy the image of the school, you are just one out of thousands in the institution” National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) and National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) were once in the school to appeal the school management just because of your fake news on campus”

The said campus journalist seeks popularity, but it unfortunate, popularity is not fame, respect is earned by deeds.  If you were sponsored, on behalf of the remaining thousands of students in the Institution, you are already a failure.

Long Live GAPOSA

Long Live Ogun State Students

Long Live Student Activists
