Gaposa management on hot sit as Ogun State Assembly rejects financial report, demanding bank statement

The Ogun State House of Assembly on Monday rejects the financial report presented to the house by the management of Gateway ICT Polytechnic Saapade.

The Chairman House Committee on Public Accounts, Musefiu Lamidi (APM–Ado-Odo/Ota 11), said the financial report was rejected due to numerous irregularities.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the 2018/2019 audited report of the institution was presented to the House Committee by the institution’s Rector, Dr. Isaiah Oyeyinka, and The Bursar, Waheed Gbadamosi respectively.

After going through the report, the house committee chairman demand for representation of the said report to include all expenditure receipts and bank statements unfailingly Friday 10th of July, 2020. Also, the report is said to cover the year 2018 and 2019 financial statement of the institution

“There are computation errors in the report which are not expected appear as an ICT Polytechnic, these computation errors are embarrassing, errors like this should not be expected from an ICT polytechnic. “The Assembly is after accuracy and accountability” Lamidi

According to the committee chairman, the exercise is not to witch-hunt anybody, but for proper clarifications
In response, the Rector apologized for the errors made in the said report assuring to make a comprehensive and errors free report to be presented to the house as demanded.
